An overview of REMOTE
VIEWING
Bruce Kettler
Revised July 2015
Remote
Viewing
is
a
psychic
method
of
viewing
the
past,
the
present
and
probable
future
about
an
event,
location,
or
a
person.
It's
known,
mainly,
as
a
technique
for
determining
what
is
happening
at
a
given
location.
The
term,
"Remote
Viewing,"
has
been
used
by
the
U.S.
military
to
describe
a
technique for spying.
was
involved
in
the
development
of
Remote Viewing.
The
Art
Bell
show
has
had
5
guests
discussing
Remote
Viewing,
Courtney
Brown,
Ed
Dames,
Lyn
Buchanan,
Joseph
McMoneagle,
and
Paul
Smith.
Transcripts
of
shows,
as
well
as
other
Remote
Viewing
Information,
was
found
at
the
Art
Bell
website,
when
it was active.
There
are
a
number
of
books
available
in
bookstores
and
libraries
on
the
subject
of
Remote
Viewing.
It
is
a
trained
technique
of
using
psychic
ability
that
is
inherent
in
every
person.
One
is
written
by
Joseph
McMoneagle,
and
it
is
titled,
Mind
Trek
.
He
appeared
on
the
U.S.
documentary
TV
show,
Sightings
.
McMoneagle
is
an
ex-military
person,
and
he
was
involved
in
these
psychic
spy
operations,
in
an
official
capacity,
in
the
U.S.
military.
Retired
Major
Ed
Dames
was
also
involved
with
Remote
Viewing
in
the
military,
and
was
later
engaged
in
it,
for
hire,
with
his
firm.
There
was
educational
material
available
from
his
web
site,
as
well
as
a
Bulletin
Board
System
and
a
live
chat system.
Sketches
have
been
drawn
by
Remote
Viewers
of
certain
targets
with
detailed
objects,
(targets:
military
installations,
as
well
as
others)
that
had
been
previously
unknown
to
the
person.
Not
all,
but
a
significant
number
of
them,
have
enough
correct
detail
that
any
reasonable
observer
would
conclude
they
are
of the correct target.
Statistical
studies
have
been
conducted
with
Remote
Viewers,
(RV)
to
ascertain
their
level
of
success,
and
establish
the
methods
as
having
the
degree
of
accuracy
and
consistency
to
be
judged
a
viable
method
of
Military
Intelligence
Gathering.
,
a
statistician.
Some
believe
RV
methods
are
not
wholesome
because
the
development
of
these
techniques
came
from
the
military.
Though
the
original
intent
of
those
perfecting
these
may
not
have
been
with
the
best
intentions,
most
of
those
having
survived,
and
not
died,
are
presently
utilizing
these
powers
-
to
a
great
extent
-
for
the
good of mankind.
Joseph
McMoneagle,
who
has
had
Near
Death
Experiences
(NDE)
has
a
great
deal
of
interest
in
the
spiritual
benefits
that
these
techniques
can
produce.

Joseph

of

,
was
featured
on
the
ABC
special,
"Put

the

and
he
was
also
on
Nightline: "Psychic Spies."
The
Remote
Viewing
popular
today
is
not
just
about
some
technique
for
military
gain,
or
for
corporate
espionage.
There
are
much
less
selfish
aims,
now
on
the
Remote
Viewing
scene.
Finding
lost
children
is
one such purpose.
Though
Remote
Viewing,
as
it
is
becoming
popular
now,
is
not
military
oriented,
some
of
the
terms
originating
from
the
military are still used.

From
my
study
of
a
number
of
sources,
the
key
difference
between
ordinary
psychic
functioning
and
Remote
Viewing
psychic
functioning
is
that
Remote
Viewing
produces
more
accurate
detail,
more
often.
That
is
because
of
the
Rigor
and
Discipline
that
Remote
Viewing
requires.
The
discipline
brings
about
separation
of
the
imagination,
images
from
the
subconscious
and
the
ego.
What
remains
are
true
and
pure
psychic
impressions.
The
focus,
now,
of
some
teachers
of
Remote
Viewing
technique,
is
to
help
all
of
us
know
of
the
coming
geologic,
economic,
and
spiritual
changes
we
are
soon
going
to
encounter
on
this
planet,
and
how
we
may
discover
the
pathways
we
must
take
to
go
through
these
changes
more
gracefully.
Others
are
focused
upon
individual
spiritual
awareness,
and
helping
others
find
the
path
of
the
individual
soul's
journey
in
this
realm
of
existence
known as the physical.
Some
are
engaged
in
using
remote
viewing
techniques
in
completely
self-centered
aims
which
are
destructive
and
hurtful,
but
that
will
cause
their own self destruction.
The
third
eye
(also
known
as
the
inner
eye)
is
a
mystical
and
esoteric
concept
referring
to
a
speculative
invisible
eye
which
provides
perception
beyond
ordinary
sight.
In
certain
dharmic
spiritual
traditions
such
as
Hinduism,
the
third
eye
refers
to the ajna, or brow, chakra.
Lyn Buchanan is still teaching
remote viewing.
